The “Discovery of the Caucasus” tour, bringing together three fascinating countries of the Caucasus in a single adventure, invites you on a journey through time with Marsis Tourism’s comfortable vehicles and expert guides. Starting from the modern silhouette of Azerbaijan, the Land of Fire, and extending to Georgia’s lush valleys and ancient wine culture, and then to Armenia’s millennia-old monasteries, this route offers a true cultural mosaic.

You will fully experience the magnificent Baku on the shores of the Caspian Sea, the narrow streets of Tbilisi brought to life by the Kura River, and the historical fabric of Yerevan in the shadow of Mount Ararat. Be prepared to witness how different cultures, languages, and flavors blend together on this legendary journey that transcends borders.

Day 1: Arrival in Baku and the Pearl of the Caspian: Welcome at the airport and hotel check-in. Afternoon tour of the UNESCO-listed Icherisheher (Old City), Maiden Tower, and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, followed by a walk along Baku Boulevard.

Day 2: Mud Volcanoes and the Trace of Fire: A tour of Gobustan National Park, famous for its ancient rock carvings. A visit to the world-renowned Mud Volcanoes and Ateshgah (Fire Temple), known for its eternal natural flame.

Day 3: Towards Georgia via Sheki: Departure from Baku. A tour of the Sheki Khan’s Palace, famous for its unique stained-glass craftsmanship, and the historic Caravanserai. Overnight stay in Sheki.

Day 4: Crossing the Border and Welcome to Tbilisi: Crossing the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. Arrival in the capital, Tbilisi, via the famous Kakheti wine region. Hotel check-in and free time on Rustaveli Avenue.

Day 5: Ancient Streets of Tbilisi: Take the cable car up to Narikala Fortress, visit the Kartlis Deda statue, the Sulfur Baths (Abanotubani) district, the Bridge of Peace, and a detailed city tour of the historic Meidan area.

Day 6: Mtskheta and Crossing to the Armenian Border: A visit to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, and Jvari Monastery. In the afternoon, border crossing procedures at the Georgia-Armenia (Sadakhlo) border and arrival in the capital, Yerevan.

Day 7: Yerevan City Discovery: A tour of the “Pink City” covering Republic Square, the Opera House, and the Cascade Complex, which offers a magnificent view of the city. A panoramic view from the Tsitsernakaberd (Genocide Memorial) area.

Day 8: Garni Temple, Geghard, and Lake Sevan: A visit to Garni, the only surviving Hellenistic temple in the Caucasus, and the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery carved into the cliffs. Afterwards, a break at the unique Lake Sevan, the largest lake in the Caucasus.

Day 9: Farewell to the Caucasus: Following breakfast, free time and transfer to Yerevan Airport (or Tbilisi Airport depending on the return route) according to flight schedule.

  • Quota: Tours generally require a minimum participation of 20–25 people. If the minimum number is not reached, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour by providing notice 2–3 days in advance.
  • Weather Conditions: The guide reserves the right to modify the sequence of the program due to weather, road conditions, or force majeure, provided that all scheduled locations are still visited.
  • Accommodation: In triple rooms, the third bed is typically provided as a fold-out or rollaway extra bed.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made up to 30 days before the departure date usually qualify for a full refund; however, specific deductions may apply for cancellations made within the final week.
